Hey It's Franklin

Just for sake of documentation. This is Franklin. He is a turtle that Brandon found behind our house and Austin wanted to keep him for his pet! We ended up keeping him in a plastic container outside on the back porch for about a week and Austin had to check on him 50 times a day and feed him A LOT! He gave him grapes and strawberries galore. Poor Franklin would constantly scratch on the side of the box trying to get out so I finally convinced Austin that we needed to let him go so that he could go back to the woods and play with his friends. So I let him take him out to the edge of the yard and let him go. Luckily there was no fit throwing and he told Franklin "bye" and let him be on his way!

Magic Springs

My work had our company picnic at Magic Springs on the 5th of June so I invited Michelle and Anna to go with us. He and Anna had a ball. The waterpark turned out to be the big hit, but I didn't get any pictures in the water.

Ridin' the choo-choo. Let me just say that these kiddie rides aren't made for the grown ups to fit in real well. Because Austin is a shorty we had to ride on the rides with them. Michelle and I took turns.

This was the exception to needing an adult rider.

We really had a fun day. We went to the Purple Cow for supper and purple ice cream after we finished up at Magic Springs. We just knew the kiddos would go to sleep on the ride home, but they didn't!

Memorial Day Weekend

Brandon had his first weekend off of work in forever on Memorial Weekend so on Saturday the three of us loaded up and took a little road trip. We started out by heading to Arkadelphia for some Taco Tico and then headed on up the highway to Caddo Gap to go to the Caddo River to play in the water for a while. It was packed that day, but we were able to get a spot and have a little fun. The water was so cold, but it didn't seem to bother Austin.

Rosemary bought Austin a slip n slide to go along with his pool and it has been a hit, once he learned to use it! When I was a kid our slip n slides consisted of a long piece of clear plastic, the dish soap and the water hose. They were really much more fun than the ones today. We had a huge hill behind our house and it was a great place to slip n slide. Oh to be a kid again!!

He didn't get it at first and I had to show him. Let me tell you that it was a site with my big tail trying to do that!

Fishin' - Take Two

Brandon, Austin and I went to White Oak Lake fishing one Sunday and let's just say Austin acted fine, but he wasn't as much in to fishing here as he was on the pond. The difference is because the fish weren't biting fast enough and he has no patience. I don't either for that matter when it's comes to fishing! I'm ready to go if they're not biting within the first 15 minutes.

Of course when you go out the boat you've got to have snacks! Here he is with a ring pop and I think he had some of everyone's snacks while we were there. That was his favorite part of the trip!

And after 3 hours of being in the boat with Mama and Daddy this is what happens. He was out as soon as I put him in the seat. You know it's a hard job eating all those snacks while Daddy fished!!

Playdate!

Seeing as how we live out in the country and there are no other little kids around, Austin has most of his at home playtime with Mama and Daddy. His little friend Anna was down the road visiting with her grandparents so we invited her up for some playtime. Anna and Austin play really good together and she is so sweet. Here are a few pics from their afternoon.

Let's Go Fishin'

We took Austin fishing where he could do it on his own for the first time and it was a big hit! Maybe because we were fishing at a pond where it's easier to catch them, but hey whatever works!

He looks so serious here.

He caught several that day and wasn't afraid to carry them to the ice chest.

Disney on Ice...and a Little Chuck E.

This past Saturday me and Aunt Ding took Austin, Ayla and Alon to Little Rock for Disney on Ice. It was a great show and the kiddos really enjoyed it! Austin was glued to it the whole time, but had a ton of questions about who some of the characters were because he didn't know them all! Once we were done of course we had to make the trip to Chuck E. Cheese for some pizza and some games!
