Halloween Treats

It has been such a nasty weekend with the rain and the cold. Brandon and I took Austin to the pre-school on Friday for a visit and to pick up his supply list. He starts there on Monday. It makes me a little sad knowing that he's growing up so fast. Friday afternoon Brandon went to the deer camp so me and Austin had the place to our selves. Saturday we went and bought groceries and went to Mamaw and Papaw's for birthday cake for Miranda and Shane. And on Sunday I didn't leave the house all day. I'm going to leave you with just a couple of food pics of what Austin and I cooked over the weekend. The first one is our chicken pot pie that we made and used the cookie cutters to cut out a "halloween black cat" in the top crust. We were trying to make our supper a little festive. The second is of the cupcakes we made on Sunday. Nothing real fancy just picks that we bought at Wal-Mart, but I did make the orange icing homemade!

And here's a quick snapshot of Austin and I that we took. Of course I can never get him to look at the camera!

 

Pumpkin Patch & More

I'll start out by saying that there are a lot of pictures in this post. We had a wonderful Saturday going to Little Rock and taking Austin to his first pumpkin patch. Brandon had to work so I took Austin and my nephew. We went to a patch in southwest Little Rock called Motley's. They have a Christmas tree farm as well. It was a smaller patch than the one I've been to before in Grady, but we really enjoyed it. They have hayrides, goats, chickens, pig races and some swings and slides for the kiddos. And since it was his first pumpkin patch visit I thought we'd have our first Chuck E. Cheese visit as well. That place was packed. They had 4 birthday parties going on as well as the regular customers. Austin still got plenty of playtime though. After Chuck E. I wanted to do a little shopping, but apparently Austin did not. He's not a good shopper to begin with, but Saturday was awful. He doesn't want to ride in a buggy or a stroller and of course holding your hand is out of the question as well. So we fought those battles in EVERY store. I did however get the things that I had to get him except for new shoes. So here are the photos from our big day!!

And I think we've found a good Christmas gift. I couldn't keep him off of this thing. He kept telling me that he needed to get feed and go feed cows with Papaw.

And of course the cutest little hiney in South Arkansas. Actually the little pumpkin undies are cute too!

 

Weekend Wrap Up

I am at this moment sitting at home all alone and I have to say it's nice. Papaw picked up Austin before lunch and Brandon is at work. This is the first "home alone" time I've had in a very long time.

We've had a rather busy weekend with grocery and gift buying on Friday, a couple of birthday parties on Saturday, one for my niece who is turning 11 and the other for my cousin who turned 50. And for today just a whole lot of nothing except for cooking supper.

And of course the sweetest, cutest little man around. How precious is this little guy.

 

An Interesting Read...

or I'm assuming it was. I went to check on Austin while he was in the bathroom a few days ago and this is what I found. Of course I ran and got the camera when I found him this way. Apparently he takes after every man in the world where the bathroom is their official "library". He was looking at a Sportsmans Guide catalog and also like his Daddy was checking out what was on sale. I'll so embarrass him one of these days with pictures like this.

 

 

 

Feedin' the Cows

One of Austin's favorite things to do is going to feed the cows with Papaw. He waits on him to come pick him up so they can take feed to the pasture. So every few days Papaw shows up to go "peed the cows" as Austin says. I rode down over the weekend while they were feeding and filling up the water tank so that I could get a few pics. I don't get a lot of the two of them, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to catch them in action.

Makin' a Cake!!

On Monday Austin and I made a birthday cake for our cousin Rosemary (Austin calls her Ro-Ro). Her birthday isn't until Thursday, but we went ahead and had a little early birthday celebration for her. Of course I had my little helper as usual and he did the duty of cleaning up the spoon and beaters afterwards!!

The finished product. It didn't turn out that great, but it's kinda hard when you have an almost 2 1/2 year old poking his fingers in it everytime you look away. Oh well, practice makes perfect (or better in my case), one of these days I'll figure out how to decorate well.

 

I've Got My Mask On...

so lets go hunting Daddy. As always Austin is right in the middle of everything we're doing and when Brandon cleaned out all of his hunting stuff that was no exception. Austin found a couple of Brandon's old face mask and of course he wanted to wear them. These two masks have officially become Austins.

 

 

I'm not sure what this face is, but he was trying to get his mask just right.

 

All Tuckered Out

Once Mikey left today I tried to get Austin to lay down for a nap, but he was having no part of it because Daddy was outside and he wanted to be as well. So outside it is and about 5 pm we came into the house and as I was typing on my other posts he laid down on the kitchen floor in front of the fridge and below is what came next. You got it...he just couldn't stay awake any longer so it's naptime on the kitchen floor!! I just couldn't help but to get a quick picture of it and then I moved him to the bed. It just doesn't get any sweeter.

My nephew "Mikey Smith" as Austin calls him came for a visit today. We don't see Mikey a whole lot since he doesn't live close, but Austin enjoys playing with him. Here are a few pictures from their brownie break they took today. They are two silly little boys!
